How to Play Split Sixes in Golf
Three players, no teams — 6 points split every hole.
What is Split Sixes?
Split Sixes is Nine Point's leaner sibling — same threesome, same idea, smaller pool. Every hole, 6 points split 4/2/0 by finishing order: lowest score gets 4, middle gets 2, worst gets 0.
Tie for a rank and you split the pooled points for the slots you share, evenly — two players tied for low split the 4-and-2 slots (6 points) as 3 each.
How scoring works
- Exactly 3 players, individual play.
- 6 points split 4/2/0 by score, lowest to highest.
- Tied ranks split the pooled points for the slots they share, evenly.
- Each point of difference between two players is worth the stakes, settled pairwise and netted across the round.
Scoring example
One hole, $1 a point. Alex cards a 4; Beth and Casey both card a 5.

Alex takes the low score outright — 4 points. Beth and Casey tie for the last two slots and split them (2+0=2) as 1 each. Beth owes Alex $3 and Casey owes Alex $3 — the 3-point gap each, at $1 a point.
